Our mission statement

About Us

Sunshine Training is owned and operated by a National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified trainer, Julie Eng. I’ve been in the fitness industry for 9 years and love seeing the variety that my clients bring. I’ve helped clients lose weight, gain muscle, improve flexibility, and regain the functional movement they had at a younger age or before an injury. My personal passions are hypertrophy (building muscle mass) and functionality (physical rehabilitation and “pre-habilitation”).

Fitness is a personal choice that takes mental commitment. If you are one of the many who has trouble motivating in the gym or other arenas you might consider life coaching. Life coaching gives you more access to your trainer and a far greater focus on why fitness is so important in our lives. Sunshine Training provides life coaching services separate from or in addition to personal training. Life coaching is not therapy or mental health counseling but rather a source of motivation, encouragement and a means to build positive associations with previously difficult situations.

I believe that there is no magical fix-all for each client who comes my way. I work with you to address the needs and wants that you’re aware of but also keep an eye out for any hiccups. I strive to make the most of your workouts and encourage a healthier lifestyle outside of the gym by attending to your needs rather than lumping you in with what a textbook case might look like.

As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) I am required to know the material of a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and more. To maintain this certification I am required to keep up with my education. Throughout that education I’ve collected and maintained certifications in CPR, AED, First Aid, Prenatal and Postpartum Training, ViPR training, and Lifestyle Wellness Coaching.

Currently I spend some of my time as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Steven’s Institute in Hoboken, NJ. I work with all varsity teams to improve their lifting form, strength, movement patterns, agility, endurance, and explosiveness. I love Acroyoga, hiking, and trying to avoid being run over while bicycling through our local cities.
